The Real Story:
I spent 2+ years building Dusty Beetles. Built the MVP in 48 hours. Had a site up. Sold the first product the same day.
Then came the chaos:
Partnerships. Deals. Product development. Customer growth. Managing a team. Sales. 16K+ TikTok followers. Packaging design. Brand positioning. Infrastructure. Strategic advisors. Everything.
Doing everything at once and trying to carry it all on my shoulders with no real path to the funding that we needed to carry the weight.
At one point, we launched on TikTok shop and completely buckled my ability to ship and sold out in less than 3 hours.
I got burnt out, lost my home and ended up homeless couch surfing with my son.
About a year after we ended up in a homeless shelter, people are still asking for the product, me still trying to work out deals to handle the manufacturing and shipping.
The bewildering part was having investors reach out while I was crumbling.
